Mission

CONNECTING, BUILDING, LEARNING AND GROWING TOGETHER

Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc. empowers homeschooling families—particularly families of color—through education, community, and real-world learning experiences that prepare youth for college, careers, and leadership.

Through its Resource Center, Learning Center, and family-centered network, BHCFL provides academic support, career exploration, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities that equip students with knowledge, confidence, and practical skills while fostering connection, cultural awareness, and lifelong learning.

This organization is not affiliated with any one religion and is open to people of all faiths. Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization.

What We Do

At Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, Inc., our work is organized into eight key areas that support, uplift, and empower the families we serve. These pillars guide our programs, services, and long-term commitment to our homeschool community.

1. Academic Excellence

We provide high-quality educational resources, tutoring, and classes designed to help students reach their highest academic potential.

2. Cultural Empowerment

We offer programming rooted in African and African American history and culture to build identity, pride, and confidence.

3. Community Building

We cultivate a strong, supportive, and inclusive village where families connect, share resources, and learn together.

4. Leadership Development

Through clubs, public speaking, and service opportunities, we prepare students to lead with confidence and purpose.

5. Parent Support & Education

We provide guidance, training, and resources to help homeschooling parents thrive in their role as their children’s primary educators.

6. Extracurricular Enrichment

We offer arts, science, sports, music, sewing, gardening, martial arts, photography, coding, and more—ensuring well-rounded learning experiences.

7. Advocacy & Representation

We advocate for the rights and visibility of Black homeschooling families, ensuring they are valued, supported, and recognized.

8. Sustainability & Growth

We build strong partnerships and develop sustainable programs that ensure BHCFL’s long-term impact and continued expansion.
